Irving Wire incorporated was established. The company produced Wire Mesh for the cement industry

1960
Irving Wire and Foothills Steel Foundry merged on shared facilities at the Glenmore Trail site. Company was then purchased by brothers D.F Irving and Harry Irving (2nd Generation)

1975
Irving Wire and Foothills split into separate corporations. Foothills Steel Foundry adds machining capabilities to its SE Calgary location.

The addition of a second basic Arc Furnace took place boosts casting capacity to 6000kg clean weight.

H.F Irving (3rd generation) takes over General Manager of all facilities

Power deregulation forces a decrease in economic casting ability. Glenmore Trail facility closed, all operations moved to SE Calgary (Shepard) location

H.F Irving assumes ownership of all FSF locations

Foothills Steel Foundry expands operations into Asia to support the growth of the company and combat rising raw material prices.

Distribution facility opened in Australia

US Distribution facility opened in the US

Technology embraced, CMM and laser scanning. Solidworks used to design all parts. CNC machine capacity added. Railway division created

Proprietary High Chrome White Iron line introduced into Northern Alberta, alongside Chrome Carbide Overlays (CCO) and pipe spool rebuilding line.

Additional CNC Machine and fabrication capacity added, welding and assembly lines increase in capacity and aggressive Oilsand supply expansion introduced.
